For just $49.95. You can experience an Introductory flight lesson with a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI). Learn how to perform prefilght inspection of your aircraft. Learn how to start the airplane and taxi to the departure runway. Your CFI will take off and then yes, you’ll actually take the controls of one of our Cessna training aircraft under the guidance of your CFI on your very first flight! Your CFI will supervise and ensure that 1) you get back safely, and 2) throughly enjoy the thrill of flight. You can then schedule continuing flights with your instructor and begin your dream of becoming a pilot.

Blue Feather Aero provides flight training under FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) FAR (Federal Aviation Regulations) Part 61, which allows each student to train and progress at their own pace. You fly as often as your schedule and budget permit.
Under FAR Part 61 rules, you must be at least 16 years of age, be able to read, write and speak the English language, have a minimum of 40 hours flight time logged of which at least 20 hours must be with a CFI, and at least 10 hours of solo flight, pass the FAA knowledge test, pass a medical examination, and successfully pass your checkride to obtain your Private Pilot license.
How much does it cost to become a Private Pilot?
Using the minumum requirement of 40 hours flight time, the investment can vary from $3,500 to $6,000, depending on which size of aircraft you train in.
Our two-seat Cessna 152’s rent for $70 and $75 per hour, three of our four-seat Cessna 172’s rent for $95 per hour, and another Cessna 172 at $104 per hour. These rental rates include fuel (a “wet” rate).
CFI's charge $30, $35 and $40 per hour of instruction and is dependent of the type of training. Our instructors work as independent contractors and set their own rates independently. Additional costs include the medical exam (approximately $85), the knowledge exam ($90) and other accessories you wish to purchase. These accessories include a flight computer, books, an aviation headset (headset rentals at $5 per lesson).
